PROJECTS

Baggie Collection

We collected all of the baggies from our lunches that would normally go into the garbage and sent them to Terracycle instead.  This organization melts down the plastic to make new products and they sent us a cheque for $60.00 just for reducing our garbage output!

Sweater Day

We turned the heat down 2 degrees on National Sweater Day!  We encouraged students and staff to wear a crazy sweater to keep warm instead and had a contest to see who showed the most school spirit in support of Sweater Day.  We drew names from the list of class winners and Chase was the lucky guy to win an Eco-friendly lunchbag and other treats!

Earth Hour

Saturday, March 29th 8:30-9:30 is International Earth Hour when we turn out the lights and electric devices all over the world.  Since this is a weekend, we will be running our own school Earth Hour from 1:30-2:30 on Friday, March 28th.  All classes have agreed to participate and find ways to learn without electricity!

Cookie/Cracker Wrapper Collection

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It’s easy. Just click “Edit Text” or double click me and you can start adding your own content and make changes to the font. I’m a great place for you to tell a story and let your users know a little more about you.

EARTH HERO CONTEST & FASHION SHOW

We partnered with Habitat for Humanity to run a classroom contest.  Each class began with a plain white paint suit.  They created super heroes with an environmental twist....a hero to conserve habitats, a hero to conserve energy, a hero to stop pollution, and many more ideas developed!  Our fashion show on Thursday, April 24th was a fantastic success.
